HIV/AIDS COUNSELOR
AIM OF THE MODULE:
This module will equip individuals to reflect on and make informed choices about their attitudes and behavioral practices. It contributes to the building of a better understanding of HIV/AIDS issues, to the rights of people living with HIV and AIDS and to workplace or communities which must become more responsive to the needs of those living with HIV and AIDS.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
On completion of this module the learner will be able to:
- Assess the impact of HIV/AIDS in the workplace/community
- Explain the rights of people affected and effected with HIV/AIDS
- Describe and explain the nature of HIV/AIDS and the transmission routes
- Describe and explain practices which reduce and prevent risk of infection
- Describe and analyze attitudes towards HIV/AIDS in the workplace or community
- Outline the rights of people living with HIV and AIDS
- Apply a code of good practices
