BASIC BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
AIM OF THE MODULE
This module provides an introduction to the skills required for running a successful small business. The focus is on knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in relation to the work environment in a small or emerging business. On completion the learner will be able to analyze a small business and make recommendations for improvements.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of this module the learner will be able to:
- Manage business operations
- Demonstrate an understanding of administration and record keeping
- Compile a marketing plan for a small business
- Analyze costs and calculate mark-ups
- Introduce a budgeting system for a small business
- Develop a business plan for a small business
- Develop and maintain a basic marketing plan
- Manage finances for a new venture
