EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME
FOR HIV/AIDS

AIM OF THE MODULE

The aim of this module is to provide employees in the workplace a better understanding of HIV/AIDS and it is aimed at human resource managers, line managers, supervisors, union representatives and other support staff. The content of the module discusses issues relating to the management of HIV/AIDS in the workplace and it provides guidelines for the development of workplace policies and procedures. On completion, participants will have a better understanding about the law pertaining to HIV/AIDS and the rights of people living with the pandemic.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On completion of this module the learner will be able to:

  • Understand HIV/AIDS and relationships
  • Explain confidentiality and disclosure
  • Explain the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS
  • Provide guidance on voluntary counselling and testing
  • Discuss the importance of managing HIV/AIDS in the workplace
  • Outline the laws that protect people with HIV and AIDS.
