MATHEMATICAL & FINANCIAL LITERACY
AIM OF THE MODULE
The purpose of this module is to enable the learner to develop mathematical and financial literacy skills that can be used in a life or business context. The content of the module has been designed to supplement the existing knowledge of learners who completed mathematics and basic finance at school.
LEARNING OUTCOMESOn completion of this module the learner will be able to:
- Solve basic problems involving numbers for business applications
- Keep basic financial records and calculate business income & expenditure
- Collect, analyze and interpret data in an everyday situation
- Plan and control personal finances
- Develop a personal budget
- Describe savings and investments
- Calculate interest
- Solve measurement related problems in an everyday situation
A number of short courses are available for entrepreneurs and owners of small or medium businesses who want to improve their managerial skills and gain a better understanding of the business environment in which they operate.
