Learners who successfully complete this module will gain an understanding of management functions (e.g. planning, organising, leading and controlling) in the organisation which they will be able to apply as managers in small businesses or junior managers in larger organisations with several business units. In this context a business unit is a small business, cost centre, section, or department. The course is aimed at developing the first level of management in an organisation and it provides an introduction to management for small or micro business owners, team leaders, supervisors, section heads, and first line managers in large organisations.
